Nihal Perera

Nihal Perera is currently Professor of Urban Planning at Ball State University, Indiana, USA, and Director of CapAsia field-study program in South Asia. He obtained his PhD from the State University of New York and has studied at the University College, London, MIT, and the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. He has been a visiting scholar/faculty at the National University of Singapore, Hong Kong Baptist University, CEPT University in Ahmedabad, India, and University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. Perera’s research focuses on the politics of space, especially how subject people create spaces for their daily activities and cultural practices.
