Franco Frescura ia a Senior Research Associate of the Department of Culture, Communications and Media Studies at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. He studied at the University of the Witwatersrand until his PhD. His area of interest is architecture focused in archaeology, anthropology, history, social anthropology and economics. Franco develops research into the indigenous architectures of Africa, as well as major projects on mission stations and the origins of colonial settlement in southern Africa, and has also written extensively on the structure of the Apartheid City. Franco has lectured extensively as Visiting Professor both locally and overseas.
