Scholar applications

The Mundus Urbano Consortium also hosts visiting academics (scholars) from third-country (non European) institutions who are interested in contributing to the Mundus Urbano study programme and strengthening academic partnerships with the Consortium. 

Interested applicants as part of the scholar programme must:

i) have their permanent residence and place of work in a non-EU country, 

ii) be available to visit a minimum of two Mundus Urbano Consortium partner universities, and

iii) are to remain a minimum of two weeks at the host university as well as undertake a mobility to one of the consortium partner universities in order to facilitate a productive cooperation.

Selected academics are hosted for a minimum period of two weeks and maximum of three months in one or more of the Consortium's institutions. The Erasmus Mundus scholarship afforded to selected scholars is paid at a rate of 1,200€ per week. This scholarship must cover all flight and accommodation expenses unless otherwise negotiated.

How to apply

Applications from interested candidates are invited in the form of a letter outlining the research and/or teaching proposal during the stay in Europe. The Mundus Urbano Scholar Application Form should be used to communicate your standard data and the universities to be visited must be indicated and justified in the application. A recent CV and list of publications must accompany application submissions. 

Applications for next years program is also now available for scholars with the Mundus Urbano Scholar Aplication Form 2015-2016.

A hardcopy as well as a scanned version (one single pdf file) of the application package must be submitted according to the following format:
