| visa application | Applicants are advised to get informed about EU visa requirements at an early stage. Since the study will begin in Darmstadt, the German consulate or embassy in your country should be contacted. Apart from the Acceptance Letter a cash deposit at a bank and the APS check (see below) are necessary in some countries before a visa may be granted. This may hold up your application for several months. However, applicants with confirmed DAAD or ERASMUS MUNDUS scholarships usually need less time. Please keep in mind that for MUNDUS URBANO study you will need an additional visa for the continuation of your course in the second country (except if you are an EU citizen). |
| residence permit | Your entry visa (normally 90 days) to Germany needs to be complemented by a student residence permit after enrolment at the university. |
| other info | The German Foreign office runs an information page ’Young Germany’ for potential students coming to Germany. The Erasmus Mundus Alumni association "EMA" offers a platform for advertising job opportunities, housing etc. for current Erasmus Mundus students as well as for Erasmus Mundus alumni.
